Nord CE 2 launched by OnePlus, aimed to provide an improved and distilled version of the Nord 2. But did it succeed? Or should you instead choose Nord 2? Which 2 hand mobile one should you purchase?

Continue reading to learn about the differences.

Body

Nord CE 2 is slightly thinner than the 8.3mm OnePlus Nord 2, but not significantly.

The Nord CE 2 contains a 3.5mm jack and a microSD card slot. Furthermore, the SD card port is located in a tray that also accommodates two SIM cards. There is a 3.5mm audio connector on the Nord 2. On the other hand, the alert slider switch is one of the easiest ways to switch between ring, vibration, and silent modes on your phone.

The CE 2 features a transparent portion that curves up from the phone's rear, whilst the Nord 2 has a nice small metal panel with chamfered edges. It's made of the same plastic as the rest of the back panel, which is glass on the Nord 2.

Display

The Nord CE 2 screen appears somewhat cooler and cleaner, whilst the Nord 2 has a slightly warmer tone. Both are bright, sharp and perfect for watching all of your favourite shows and movies, owing to HDR10+ support.

Sound

The Nord CE 2 has a single loudspeaker on the bottom edge, whereas the Nord 2 has two speakers, one at the top and one near the bottom, giving it a more stereo effect.

Battery life and performance

CE2 : Mediatek Dimensity 900 5G processor

Nord 2 : Mediatek Dimensity 1200 processor

CE 2 : Expandable storage

Both : 8GB RAM, 128GB storage

They have different processors. The MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chipset is used in the Nord 2, while the Dimensity 900 is found in the Nord CE 2. In terms of computing power, this is practically a step-down.

Neither is slow or sluggish. It's difficult to see if there's a difference in fluidity and response times for touch movements. The battery life is also nearly equal. Even on busy days, they can both easily go through a full day. Even in 2 hand mobile, the charging speed is the same, as both enable 65W fast charging.

Camera

Both
: a triple-camera setup

Nord 2 : 50MP main camera - 8MP ultrawide -  2MP monochrome

CE 2 : 64MP main camera - 8MP ultrawide - 2MP macro

The main camera of the Nord CE 2 has 64 megapixels, compared to 50 in the Nord 2. Of course, they both use pixel binning to reduce the resolution to 12-megapixels and 16-megapixels, respectively.

The Nord 2's sensor is of higher quality. It may produce bright, colourful images with good detail and depth. In comparison, Nord CE 2 pictures can frequently appear to have a bit more contrast while lacking in colour. This results in a bit more of an overly sharpened look.

A selfie camera is also comparable. The Nord CE 2 often appeared paler and gentler with our tested skin tone. It will also appear unnaturally pale if you leave the filters and beautifying function on (which is the default).
